North East Library

Our team provided civil/site design and permitting as well as landscape architectural support for the new North East Branch of the Cecil County Public Library. Our team helped to coordinate public outreach meetings, County Council meetings, Town Commissioner meetings, and Town Planning Commission meetings.

The new library offers 35,000 square feet of public library space that houses a collection of over 70,000 books and media. There is an Early Literacy Center, Entrepreneur Center, Business Commons, Digital Media Lab, Hands-on STEM Exploration Area, Teen Center, Quiet Reading Room, 10 Individual Work/Study Rooms, and a 100 Person Community Meeting Room.

Maryland’s Environmental Site Design requirements for stormwater management were met using a combination of micro-bioretention, submerged gravel wetlands, and porous concrete paving.

Additional tasks have been completed at Perryville Library and Rising Sun Library, including design of a Sensory Garden and parking lot drainage improvements.
